Earwigs are found under piles of lawn debris, mulch, or in tree holes. They enter indoors through exterior cracks. They hide during the daytime and feed on leaves, flowers, fruits, mold, and insects at night. It’s a myth that earwigs crawl into people’s ears and tunnel into their brains. They don’t spread any disease, but their appearance is menacing and they can “pinch” with their cerci “forceps”.
